Don Davis, immediate past president of the West Virginia United Methodist Men, handed out literature during the Ministry Expo at the West Virginia United Methodist Annual Conference in Buckhannon in June 2018.
The West Virginia Conference United Methodist Men are continuing to help people affected by the June 23, 2016, floods.
West Virginia United Methodist Conference Disaster Response Director Dan Lowther reports that the New River Depot — the conference’s warehouse for flood relief material — has a good stock of empty buckets but needs supplies. You or your group could donate all of the contents of a flood bucket (total approximate cost is $65) or you can donate some items. If you donate some items, volunteers will use your donations and others to make up complete buckets.
If you or your church wish to donate items please call the Midland South District office at 304.342.8843 to make arrangements and bring your donations to the District office located at St. Marks UMC in downtown Charleston.
For monetary support please refer to the fund numbers below:
#110 United States UMCOR Disaster Response
#920 WV Flood Relief/Disaster Response
#922 New Vision Depot
Send a church check made payable to the Conference Treasurer with the fund number listed in the memo area of your check so that your church will get credit for it. Don’t forget to send this with a remittance form.
